In conjunction with the celebration of the International Women’s Day, Wanita MCA and MPTC Lifelong Learning Centre jointly organized a Single Mothers Convention, themed <Walking with Single Mothers – Metamorphosis Towards the Rainbow” at UE3’s Cultural Activities Centre on 18th March 2006.
The main thrust of the convention is to guide single mothers to be independent financially and mentally to enable them to raise their children well. The convention was launched by MCA Deputy President cum Transport Minister Dato’ Seri Chan Kong Choy. Over 300 single mothers from nationwide responded well through their participation in the convention. The one-day Single Mothers Convention included talks, workshops and discussions all of which benefited the single mothers who were present.
